The usual way we meet has changed for the time being in light of the Coronavirus pandemic

From September 2020 and in line with government guidelines, we resumed our physical gatherings as a church. In order to meet the guidelines for ‘social distancing’ we are more limited in the numbers we can have at the school and need to ask people to book in before coming. We’ve conducted a very comprehensive risk assessment which has been agreed with the school and is in line with their own assessment. (Full document here – it’s long! – and user friendly version here)

All of our other meetings will remain online for now:

  • Home Groups and prayer meetings
  • Women of the Word, Vintage, Little Hoppers, Explored courses and all other church groups.
  • Our community groups like Little Hoppers and Classic Cafe are also online for the time being

We have found lots of ways of continuing to meet together ‘online’. The Bible is clear that meeting together is a vital part of our Christian lives, and is a means by which we share encouragement and find joy even through difficult days (Hebrews 10:24-25).

If you are a regular at Hope you will have been receiving communication about how this is happening. We have also found ways of making church accessible to a wider group, especially those who might be reflecting on the bigger questions of life right now. If you’re not a regular – have a look around.

When Jesus said that he will always be with us, he meant it (Matthew 28:18-20).  None of us is alone during this time.  The God of all love, compassion and grace is with us.  Let’s encourage one another with that great truth in these unusual times.
